A ritual bath is a bath taken with a spiritual purpose such as cleansing your aura, healing your Chakras or even bringing money into your life.
For hundreds of years, people have bathed not only to clean their bodies but also to purify and heal their spirits. It’s no surprise as water is cleansing, healing, renewing and refreshing and when we add things into the water we bathe in, we boost its effects as the water acts as a conduit for emotional healing and purification.
How do you create a Spiritual Bath?
Consider the Phases of the Moon
When taking your bath, it’s always good to consider the current phase of the moon. The full moon is a great time for reflections releasing what no longer serves you, while the new moon is a great time for setting you intentions.
Give Yourself Time
Try and stay in the bath for at least 20 minutes to get the most from the healing benefits.
Set the Scene
Candles and music are great for creating the perfect ambience in which to take your bath. Placing crystals around the bathroom and even the edge of the bathtub again can all increase the potency of your ritual bath. Always check that any crystals you bring into a steamy atmosphere are water/moisture proof!
Healing Chakras and related body parts
Placing healing crystals around your bathroom and even placed on the edge of the bathtub can all help create a healing energy to support your Chakras.
Adding herbs and Flowers to your Bath
Choose the herbs and flowers that resonate with you at the time of your bath, or specific ones that will help heal your Chakras.
There are a few different ways to add flowers and herbs to your ritual baths such as simply throwing the herbs and flowers you are using, directly into the bath water. But, be warned, this can be messy to clean-up afterwards! An easier way is to put the herbs and flowers you are using into a muslin bag or even use a herbal teabag and let the herbs steep in the water that way. Just think of it as being an enormous cup of tea!
Alternatively you could create your herbal infusion in the kitchen and strain the mixture into your bath as you run the water. That way, there are no messy bits to clear up later!
No bath? No problem!
You don’t need to miss out if you don’t have a bath as you can create the same healing by using a foot bath.
