Healing the Sacral Chakra

Crystals and gemstones have properties that facilitate healing and the practice of using them to heal physically and emotionally dates back thousands of years.

The Sacral Chakra is an emotional powerhouse of energy that can be quickly blocked when we experience fear of any kind.  This Chakra is represented by water, and is all about flow and flexibility.

When your Sacral Chakra is unbalanced, you may feel disconnected from others and yourself. Lower back pain, fertility issues, and kidney problems may also arise.

If this Chakra is overactive, you might find yourself dealing with addiction or co-dependency, lack of creativity or even low libido. You may find too that you struggle with self-confidence issues.

Chakra stones that can help balance the Sacral Chakra are usually orange, golden or red-orange in colour.

Let’s take a look at some of the most common crystals for healing the Sacral Chakra.

Orange Carnelian

Orange Carnelian is often the ‘go-to’ crystal for resolving any Sacral Chakra issues since it has the ability to balance both overactive and underactive Chakra centres. For many who are just beginning to learn about Chakras it can be hard to determine which is which, so a ‘cure-all’ crystal is a must-have in your crystal and stones collection.

As an ancient stone, the Carnelian was used to protect the dead on their journey to the afterlife, but it’s also seen as a stone of courage. Emotional traumas and pain are all dispelled by Orange Carnelian and it possesses the ability to strengthen family bonds.

As far as physical symptoms go, Carnelian can be used to treat issues with the lower back, arthritis, and it can also accelerate bone healing and improve vitamin absorption.

Tiger’s Eye

The history of Tiger’s Eye is an interesting one as this golden-brown Quartz has been used for many different things throughout history. Roman soldiers carved it into amulets and talismans and the Egyptians used it to make ‘eyes’ for their statues representing deities as they believed this stone to be all-knowing.

Today, people use it to balance the Sacral Chakra and bring sharpness to their inner vision and overall focus of the mind. It also stabilises mood swings and allows us to make decisions without being swayed by fear and anxiety.

Tiger’s Eye is the perfect choice for increasing willpower, self-confidence and the desire to achieve a goal.

Amber

Amber is a fossilised tree resin, so although it cannot strictly be called a crystal, it’s very effective for clearing emotional blockages. Its energy is stored from the earth and sun and it’s because of this it possesses the ability to actively support and clear problems associated with the Sacral Chakra.

Amber is the perfect choice to help you to connect to your intuition, whilst it also encourages decision-making and awakens your creative side.

Orange Calcite

This orange crystal is an incredible tool to relieve anxiety and stress, while helping you find emotional balance. It acts as a cleansing and energy source for your Sacral Chakra and

can boost your sexual side while giving your self-confidence some extra love.

Sunstone

Beautiful Sunstone is used for improving confidence, increasing leadership qualities and enthusiasm levels, all of which are crucial elements to having an open Sacral Chakra. Sunstone comes in a range of colour tones and is an amazing crystal to aid you on your empowering journey. If you lack confidence, or if you’re struggling to maintain your true personality around others in a platonic or romantic relationship, Sunstone is one of the best Sacral Chakra crystals to combat this and to allow your true self to shine through.

When you’ve decided on which crystal you want to use to heal, unblock and realign your Sacral Chakra, there are several ways you can use it:

  • Wear the stones as jewellery over the chakra locations.
  • Meditate with the stones.
  • Keep a stone in your pocket, on your person or on your desk.
  • Add them to your bath water.
  • Sleep with the stone under your pillow or next to your bed.
