How to Help Your Clients Heal Spiritually After a Burnout

As a coach, one of the most incredible things you can do for your client is to help them connect with their true selves. After all, we have all been there.

We get caught up in life’s dramas and experience disappointments, negative conditioning, and everything else that can come to disrupt our path. All of these things take us away from seeing the value in who we are. And what we do in the world fundamentally affects how we love and accept ourselves.

Soul Awakening Coaching allows us to help our clients get back to being connected. And it helps them to get back to feeling safe, secured, valued and loved while they’re on their paths and undergoing their journeys.

What Is a Burnout?

If you are not operating from the highest aspects of those energies, it is likely you’re venturing out into the world while hiding who you really are. Consequently, you may not feel safe about who you are, and so, you may project an identity that protects you from getting hurt. Such projections take an enormous amount of energy to sustain and are harmful to us in the long run.

Eventually, you will hit a crisis point, experience an identity crisis, or “burnout,” as a result of this projection. But what is burnout? And how do we overcome it?

A burnout, I believe, is any kind of experience that has been sustained over a long period of time.

Burnouts are things that that takes us away from being ourselves, and they ultimately make the tasks of accepting ourselves and valuing our authentic selves much more challenging than they already are.

Finding Your Authentic Self

What causes the disconnection to our authentic self? And when were we ever truly connected?

Look at any 3, 4, or 5 years old. Are they living their authentic lives? Yes, of course, they are! Children are unencumbered beings that are living in the moment, unburdened by the trials and tribulations of life.

I think about my 3-year-old daughter who has quite a fascination with the moon. She’s always so excited to see the moon. And every time she sees it, you can tell it is the same emotional floods of amazement, joy, awe, and thrill that she had the very first time.

Most adults, unless they have done the work on themselves that you as a Soul Awakening Coach are tasked to do, are still carrying and living out the unmet needs of their inner child. The brain doesn’t understand that an old belief we formed as a child was formed from a very limited viewpoint with an immature and limited understanding of the world. Thoughts like “I am not good enough,” or “I don’t fit in,” or perhaps even “money is hard to come by,” keep us from being our free and true selves.

It is this kind of barrier that hinders our authenticity, vulnerability, emotions, and our creativity that ultimately leads to burning out.

Healing After Burning Out

During the crash of burnout, we shut off and disconnect and are presented with two choices. We can either project a personality or persona that we feel is acceptable and will get our needs met, or we can choose to heal.

In the example of my daughter, who is so inspired by the little things in life, she doesn’t have any worries. She appreciates life’s wonders and has no external pressures, fears, or anxieties to keep her out of her natural state. If she does come to feel upset, frustrated, or angry because she can’t do something, she lets it go in the quick manner that most children usually do. She moves on from the drama of it fairly quickly and regains her authentic balance by being open and receptive to living in the moment.

By helping your clients to find creative and imaginative ways to find joy, passion, and creative inspiration from the world around them, you can help them heal after even the most significant burnouts. And all it takes is time, patience, and a few well-executed sessions of spiritual coaching.

Stay true to yourself, and if you’re a coach, stay true to your clients as well. Your greatest reward will be to help someone reconnect with the beautiful authenticity like that of a child.

Happy Coaching!
